Welcome to the Hilliard Division of Police Detective Bureau.

The Detective Bureau is the investigative branch of the police department. The Bureau handles a wide variety of investigations that require special expertise, including: arson, auto theft, burglaries, child abuse, embezzlement, financial crimes, forgery, fraud, homicides, identity thefts, juvenile matters, missing persons, narcotics, rape, robbery, and sex crimes. The detective bureau is equipped with all of the necessary equipment to handle and has handled offenses ranging from simple breaking and enterings to multiple homicides.

To assist with these investigations, Detectives continually receive advanced training in all areas of criminal investigation and crime scene/evidence collection. This advanced training coupled with extensive experience (The average detective has over 15 years of police experience) ensures that the Citizen's of Hilliard receive the best service possible. The detective bureau is aligned under the Special Operations Sub-Division of the Department.  The current Sub-Division commander is Lt. Charles Scalf and the detective bureau is supervised by Detective Sgt. James M. Redmond.
